An Industrial Advisory Board, made up of appointed key executives, functions in an advisory role to the department. Each year the full committee is invited to the University to meet with departmental faculty and students as well as top administrators and officers from other UCSD offices, such as Technology Transfer, Development, and CONNECT. The annual meeting of the Industrial Advisory Board provides an opportunity for industrial representatives and members of the department to develop one-on-one contacts, learn about mutual areas of research interest, and exchange ideas for future department-industry interactions.
