GAANN Fellowship Program Orientation Lunch
On Wednesday September 6, 2017, GAANN Fellows, alumni, and faculty gathered for the Fall 2017 GAANN Fellowship Program Orientation Lunch. Held in the Mandeville Suite (11th floor of Tioga Hall, Muir College), students and faculty had the chance to start off the 17-18 year.
Outreach, Community College STEM Summer Boot Camp
GAANN Fellows practiced their science communication skills as they showcased their research labs to a visiting group of community college students and faculty from Cuyamaca College (El Cajon, CA) on July 28, 2017. The field trip to UC San Diego was part of a new STEM Summer Boot Camp for first-generation and academically at-risk STEM majors, one of several initiatives at Cuyamaca College that is funded via a new 5-year grant from the U.S. Department of Education’s Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSI) STEM and Articulation Program. Past GAANN Industry Visits
Illumina Visit
On November 13, 2017, GAANN Fellows and alumni visited Illumina's campus in La Jolla. Students were given a presentation by Steve Barnard, VP of Research and Technology Development, followed by a round-table discussion with senior leaders in the group. The visit ended with a tour of Illumina's facilities. Thanks to Steve Barnard and the group at Illumina for hosting the GAANN program's second visit!
Vertex Pharmaceuticals 
On November 21, 2016, GAANN Fellows and Affiliates visited Vertex Pharmaceuticals.

Industry Tour - Air Products
On June 13th, 2014, GAANN Fellows visited the manufacturing facilities and laboratories of Air Products and Chemicals Inc. in Carlsbad, CA. (see: http://www.airproducts.com).
