LSP-IIPP Safety Class - "How To" Instructions: Registering for Instructor-led Training (ILT):

  1. Internet Explorer is the preferred browser; others have had questionable success
  2. Ensure all pop-up blockers are turned off (Browser, Yahoo, Bing, Google, etc.)
  3. Log on to UC learning Center (http://uclearning.ucsd.edu) via Single Sign-On
    1. Faculty/staff (use default Business Systems tab - enter username and password)
    2. Students (use Student Sign On tab - enter PID & PAC)
    3. Affiliates (use Active Directory tab - username and password… the ones you use to sign into your department’s server at your desktop)
    4. Search for keywords “lab safety” for Laboratory Safety Principles/IIPP
      1. Alternatively scroll down page to Catalog and click on “Environment, Safety and Emergency Management” or
      2. Select one of the related sub-topics to narrow your search
        1. i.e. “Laboratory and Research Safety”
  4. Click on the desired course title once to highlight
  5. Click on the 'Register' button at the bottom of the screen; this takes you to the course description and below that, upcoming sessions
  6. Click the round, radio button to the left of the session that best fits your schedule (date, time and location)
  7. Click the "Submit" button at the top of the screen to complete registration
  8. You should be sent a confirmation email and depending, a reminder message a couple days before the class
  9. Instructor provides attendee a Certificate of Attendance at the end of the class
